Compact Size

The tank comes in five gallon, which has a size of 17.2 x 10.6 x 6.3 Inches, which makes it fit on a desk or small table quickly but will be too small for larger fish or plants that require more space to survive in captivity. Unfortunately, the tank doesn't come with decorations and must be purchased separately.

It is a rectangular shape made out of glass and comes with a removable light fixture. It is perfect for small fish and plants. The only part of the tank made out of plastic is the lid at the top of the tank.

Day mode: 37 White Led lights make it beautiful for your fish and plant life; unfortunately, the light may be too dim for your low light plants to thrive and according to some experts too bright for certain fish species to survive.

Night mode: Blue dimmed Led light makes for the perfect look for the evening.

The light is watertight, so you can be sure it will not break with water evaporation and condensation. The tank comes with a separate transformer with a plug that helps with the set up or move of your tank.

The Fluval spec v aquarium comes with a very effective and efficient three-stage filtration system designed to work in harmony. This filter includes an advanced power filter that offers silent operation while maintaining excellent water quality and a durable filtration sponge that catches debris. It also comes with bio max and carbon inserts which makes for perfect water conditions.

Although there is space for a small heating system, the Spec V, unfortunately, doesn't come with one and must be purchased separately. If the heater is small enough, it can be fitted next to the filtration system, so it is out of sight, but if the heater is too big, then, unfortunately, it wouldn't be hidden in plain sight.

It also comes with a circulation pump with a nozzle that can be adjusted. An excellent way to position the nozzle is by pointing it towards the top of the water level, so that the aquarium water is better aerated.

Maintenance

Make sure to clean the glass on the outside every 2 to 3 weeks with a cloth or paper towel. There are several options you can use for this. If there are streaks on the outside, you can use a vinegar solution.

Please don't use any chemicals near your tank as they can harm your fish. When cleaning your tank inside, use a double-sided magnet cleaner for a less invasive cleaning solution.

You can also use a soft toothbrush from time to time to scrub off some of the algae that will form over time. Unfortunately, the light must be taken out before you can access the tank for cleaning.

It's a breeze, requiring only to clean the filter cartridges every few months. When feeding your fish every day, make sure to check if everything is still in working order, from the pump to the filtration system and even the lights.

Water evaporation happens, so be sure to check the water levels and fill your tank as when required.

If your pump is not working, make sure that the power cord is plugged into a surge protector and an outlet connected to the ground. If it's still not turning on, unplug everything from the tank, wait 30 seconds, then plug back in.

If your filter is not working, make sure it's plugged in and turned on. Check to see if there are any leaks around the pump or filtration system which you can use a silicone sealant for this purpose to reseal.
